Each bed is designed and custom built to order for the individual client.  Beginning at $1,800 the price is influenced by several factors.  Wood selection, number of elements, complexity, underframe and final finish.  These cedar corner posts were exceptionally clean; they were hand peeled, bleached, kiln dried and the knots were hand carved.  The horizontal branches were harvested from a yew in excess of 100 years old.  As with the cedar, the yew branches were hand peeled, bleached, kiln dried and the knots were hand carved.  The headboard and footboard were assembled with mortise and tenon joinery cross pinned with hardwood dowels.  The underframe was built with double cedar side rails and removable cross bolts.  The entire bed was hand sanded and two coats of clear acrylic polyurethane were applied then hand rubbed with a final coat of wax.
